3-D Imaging

Accurate diagnosis is the first step to successful treatment, and that’s why Crestview Endodontics uses advanced 3D imaging technology.

Small Field Cone Beam CT (CBCT)

Our practice utilizes Small Field Cone Beam CT (CBCT) technology, which provides a level of diagnostic clarity far beyond traditional dental X-rays. Standard digital X-rays are two-dimensional (2D) images, similar to a photograph, that compress complex 3D structures onto a flat surface. This means crucial details—like extra, tiny canals, micro-fractures, or anatomical blockages—can be obscured by surrounding tooth structure or bone.

In contrast, our small field CBCT generates three-dimensional (3D) cross-sectional views of the entire tooth and surrounding bone. This allows us to see the inside of your tooth from every angle, acting like a GPS for the root canal system. This 3D visualization ensures we accurately identify and thoroughly clean out all infected areas the first time, significantly reducing treatment time and directly leading to our consistently higher success rates in saving your natural tooth.

Benefits of 3D Imaging

  • Pinpoints complex root canal anatomy
  • Detects hidden infections or fractures
  • Improves accuracy in treatment planning
  • Reduces guesswork for more predictable outcomes
